The World Games 2021 has unveiled a new countdown clock at Birmingham City Hall.

The digital timer – which is now mounted in the lobby of City Hall – will continue to count down the years, days, hours, minutes and seconds until the Opening Ceremony of The World Games in Birmingham on July 15, 2021.

This marks the second countdown clock that the event has installed around the city. The first, located in Uptown Birmingham, was installed in October of 2018 to mark 1000 days until The World Games 2021.

Additional countdown clocks will be installed in key locations throughout the city, including Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport, over the next three years.

The World Games 2021 Birmingham will be an extraordinary Olympic-style sports experience where elite athletes from all over the world compete for gold in 34 unique, multi-disciplinary sports.

Featuring 3,600 athletes from more than 100 countries, the international event will unite global fans with the Birmingham community in more than 20 unique venues around the greater metropolitan area.

The World Games 2021 Birmingham, which marks the 40th anniversary of the event, will take place from 15-25 July 2021.
