(ATR) The rights to broadcast the IAAF World Athletics Series in Europe and Africa are open. For the first time, media companies can bid through a publicly declared tender.

The International Association of Athletics Federations launched a tender for the World Athletics Series on May 10 in order to be more transparent in negotiations. Information about the tender can be found here.

An IAAF spokesperson told Around the Rings by May 11 "we had at least 10" parties interested in bidding for the rights, and that number has only increased. The rights became available after the current contract with the European Broadcasting Union expired.

The World Athletics Series includes IAAF World Championships in a number of disciplines and age groups. The period for which the rights will cover depends on how negotiations go, according to a release from the federation.

P&G Highlights Turkish Athlete’s Moms

A series of television advertisements highlighting mothers of Turkish Olympic hopefuls will celebrate Procter & Gamble’s 30 years in Turkey.

The Turkish Olympic Committee spoke of the partnership in a release saying the spots will "highlight the important role mothers play in the progression of athletes from a young age". Athletes profiled will be a collection of 30 hopefuls for both the PyeongChang 2018 and Tokyo 2020 Games.

P&G has had a partnership with the TOC since 2014, according to a release.

"This is an exciting project for the TOC and one we believe is long overdue," Hasan Arat, TOC vice-president, said in a statement. "The mothers of athletes are the unsung heroes of sport throughout the world, and it is important to recognize and honor the role they play."

Baseball World Cup Adds Partner

The 2017 World Baseball Softball Confederation U-17 World Cup added Air Canada as a national partner.

"The backing of a major airline like Air Canada, together with over 30 official partners, underscores the growing attraction and appeal of the youth Baseball World Cup platform as one of the premier world championships in the highly coveted youth space," Masaru Yokoo, WBSC head of global marketing for baseball, said in a statement.
