María Fernanda Cabal, current senator re-elected by the Democratic Center, has been one of the most critical voices in the campaign being advanced by progressive candidate Gustavo Petro ahead of the 2022 presidential elections.

La caleña is constantly seen on social networks reacting to political dynamics in general. Right now the presidential campaigns have set an agenda in the media and in political parties, because every day there is talk of different alliances and approaches to candidates.

Even statements and interventions by the protagonists in the elections, who usually have the lens of the cameras pending their reactions. Gustavo Petro is the candidate who has so far been a favorite in the polls on voting intention in the first round.

But his closest political contender is Federico Gutiérrez who in the last month came too close to him in the polls.

Yesterday, Wednesday morning, Petro announced who will be the head of debate in his campaign. It was Alfonso Prada, former director of SENA and politician close to former President Juan Manuel Santos.

Given this, María Fernanda Cabal commented sharply on Twitter, saying that Prada is: “The close friend and defender of the usurper Juan Manuel Santos, Alfonso Prada, will be the head of the debate of Gustavo Petro. Like that, or clearer? Petro=Santos. Beware of fraud.”

Hours later he would return to the charge with another publication on Alfonso Prada, questioning the arrival of the Bogotá politician in the Historical Pact campaign: “The relative morality of the extreme left. Today the memorials are being made so as not to affect the campaign of Petro, Santos's friend and partner,” Cabal said, while presenting a 2020 tweet in which precisely one of the members of today's Historical Pact, Wilson Arias, denounced the investigations to Prada before launching as a congressman.

The Senator again criticized one of the possible alliances that will reach the team of Gustavo Petro, that of Ernesto Samper, the former president. On the same social network, María Fernanda Cabal shared an image showing how balloons lift an elephant, while saying “Samper lands in the Historical Pact”.

Meanwhile, Cabal assured that they are things that come to him through WhatsApp:

Petro continues to make alliances and seek support for what would be a first and eventual progressive election in Colombia under his name, this being the third time he has sought to aspire to reach Casa de Nariño.

On Senator Cabal's side, they still hope from their party to be able to support a candidate who can represent them in their ideas and those of former President Álvaro Uribe Vélez. Although there has been talk of wanting to have closeness to dialogue with Federico Gutiérrez, but recently they were seen approaching candidate Ingrid Betancourt.
