The Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), Roberto Sánchez, mentioned in an interview with Exitosa that the Executive will seek to dialogue with the concessionaire companies of tolls to freeze the rates charged to carriers.
The head of Mincetur also said that this dialogue will be within the framework of the law, and under an international context different from that which was in effect just two months ago, as a result of the Russia's invasion of Ukraine, which has skyrocketed the price of fuel in the world.
“(We are willing to) sit down and dialogue with private companies that have to do with tolls in order, within the framework of the law, as appropriate, to refer to the urgency, the emergency that we are facing today. These are not times like two months ago; today there is a difficult situation that we have to face,” he said.

Along the same lines, Sánchez welcomed the willingness of Congress to convene a plenary session tomorrow Monday, in order to address the demands of shippers and farmers. In view of this, he reported that the Ministers of Economy, Transport, Agriculture and Energy and Mines will participate in this session tomorrow, to detail the proposals being promoted by the Executive, and that they need a law of Congress.
Finally, Minister Sánchez reported that the Council of Ministers is in permanent session to evaluate and approve measures that meet social demands, and proof of this is that in just one day the approved the reduction of the Selective Consumption Tax (CSI) on fuels, which will take effect from tomorrow.
In this regard, he called on the transport unions, which announce a multimodal strike for tomorrow Monday, to maintain the dialogue with the government initiated in Huancayo, and to find solutions to structural problems of transport.

DELETE LICENSE REVALIDATION RULES EXAM
The Minister of Transport and Communications, Nicolás Bustamante, announced that his sector will present a draft legislation to eliminate the examination of rules for the revalidation of the licenses of drive. He also urged that this would apply only to those over 50 years of age and drivers who have no outstanding violations.

“On the absence of expiry of the professional drivers license is basically referred to the driver's license category AIII-B, on which the ministry will submit a draft legislation that will include the elimination of the examination of rules for revalidation procedures requiring only medical examination for drivers over 50 years of age and who have no outstanding infringements. It has also been agreed that they will carry out a training course in accordance with the national traffic regulations”, concluded the Minister of Transport and Communications, Nicolás Busatamante.
He also said that they will review the concession contracts for roads and tolls and non-payment where the roads are in poor condition, and that the MTC will request that Ositran intervene in it, in addition to restructuring the Superintendence of Land Transport of People, Freight and Goods (Sutran).
