(ATR) Each of the remaining bid cities for the 2024 Summer Olympics are expected to move onto the final stage of bidding this Friday.

Budapest, Los Angeles and Paris have endured the challenges of an Olympic bid thus far while counterparts Boston, Hamburg and Rome each failed to gain public support at different stages of the process.

The three cities will submit their final candidature files to the International Olympic Committee on Feb. 3. The third and final installment focuses on the delivery of the Games, Olympic experience and venue legacy.

Los Angeles and Paris will hold press conferences and events on the Wednesday to signify the start of their international promotion campaigns. International promotion is prohibited by Olympic bids until the final stage of the race.

Budapest 2024 announced over the weekend it would delay the start of its international promotion campaign until mid-February. Click here to read more regarding the bid's decision.

Following their final submissions, the next test for each city will come when the IOC Evaluation Commission rolls into town in April and May. The commission led by Frank Fredericks will conduct three-day evaluations, beginning with Los Angeles from April 23-25, Budapest May 10-12 and Paris May 14-16.

The next IOC Executive Board meeting will be held at the Olympic capital Lausanne from July 9-10. Following the meeting, members of the IOC will hold a technical briefing to examine the results from the earlier evaluations on July 11-12.

Budapest, Los Angeles and Paris will make a final presentation at the 130th IOC Session before the IOC elects the next Summer Games host city on Sep. 13.

Canada Brings in World’s Best Para Snowboarders

The Big White Ski Resort in British Columbia will host the best Paralympic snowboarders in the world for seven days of world championship action this week.

According to the International Paralympic Committee, the week-long event will feature 80 athletes from 25 countries for the title and bragging rights that come with being a world champion.

The Para Snowboard World Championships will be held from Feb. 1-8 with qualifications on the line for the upcoming PyeongChang 2018 Winter Paralympics in South Korea.

The next Winter Games will begin one year and one day after the conclusion of the para snowboard championships this week, beginning Feb. 9, 2018 and ending on Feb. 25. The PyeongChang 2018 Paralympics will run from March 8-18.

Tokyo 2020 Executive Committee Meets

The executive committee for the Tokyo 2020 Summer Games will hold its first meeting of 2017 this week.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 1 and will be followed by a press conference led by Tokyo 2020 president Yoshiro Mori.

Agenda topics from the meeting will likely include the progress of the recently formed mascot selection committee and efforts to find more savings in the budget with venue reviews.

Discussions over several venues including rowing, canoeing, volleyball, baseball and softball have already taken place while a closer look of the golf venue is underway. The Kasumigaseki golf course has come under fire for its gender restrictive membership policy and distance from the Olympic Village in Tokyo Bay.
