The Environmental Commission of the Megalopolis (CAMe) reported that phase one of atmospheric environmental contingency by ozone in Mexico City and the Metropolitan Area of the Valley of Mexico, as a measure to protect the health of the population from exposure to high levels of pollution.
In coordination with the National Meteorological System, the relevant authorities estimate that conditions will continue to be unfavorable for the dispersion of pollutants due to the presence of a high-pressure system that causes atmospheric stability. That is, the presence of weak wind and the incidence of intense solar radiation that favored the accumulation of harmful particles.
The CAe will provide a new report on the state of the air and the environment at 3:00 p.m. this Wednesday, March 30 to update the situation.
