Felipe Calderón Hinojosa, former president of Mexico (2006-2012), recalled the election that led him to become the Federal Executive and asserted that there was no type of electoral anomaly in his favor.

Through his official Twitter account, the former president thanked Arturo Erdély, an academic at UNAM, for the analysis carried out by Arturo Erdély, who assured that there is no evidence of the electoral fraud that some social sectors have claimed since that date, especially groups close to now President Andrés Manuel López Workshop (AMLO).

Likewise, the Michoacán politician acknowledged that, from his perspective, on July 2, 2006, the then Federal Electoral Institute (IFE) made a single mistake and that was not to disclose the rapid count with which he believes there would not have been such a rumor that continues to persist.

“I don't have the pleasure of meeting Dr. @ArturoErdely, I heard about him from his work revealing hidden data in the pandemic, but I thank him for the analysis, with scientific rigor, of the 'technical draw': there was NO fraud in 2006, the mistake: not publishing the quick count that gave me victory,” he wrote this Tuesday, March 29.

And the fact is that Calderón Hinojosa's words were in response to the thread generated by academician Erdély, where he established that the 2006 quick count gave a 99.9% chance of winning the Michoacán over his closest rival, AMLO.

He also pointed out that the IFE decided not to publish the study because it ruled a “technical tie”, which, from its perspective, did not exist because it was established by erroneous criteria to reality.

Finally, Arturo Erdély indicated that in 2019 he resumed that count in order, after an analysis, to determine that more than a fraud, it was a wrong decision by IFE's technical advisors.

MEXICO CITY 01JULY2007.- Thousands of supporters of the former presidential candidate for the Coalition for the Good of All, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, culminated in a rally in the capital's zocalo the march that left the Angel of Independence to commemorate a year of the alleged electoral fraud.

The issue of the 2006 election was revived as the role of the quick count was questioned during the Mandate Revocation consultation to be held next April 10th.

And it is worth remembering that on February 23, the National Electoral Institute (INE) announced that, despite the budget reduction it received for 2022, the participatory democracy exercise that López Obrado will undergo will have this resource to know the preliminary results.

This count will have no cost since it will be assumed by the same committee that is in charge of the June 5 processes due to the lack of resources and spending pressures that the institute is experiencing for the organization of the direct participation exercise,” said Councillor Carla Humphrey.

However, this is not the only scandal that the democratic exercise has faced, since the Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judiciary (TEPJF) ruled that the “Decree” on government propaganda is inapplicable for the Revocation of Mandate.

The judges concluded that the decree on authentic interpretation is inapplicable in cases of a revocation of mandate, since rather an exception was established to the prohibition thereof, which is in violation of what is stated in the Constitution.

In addition, he confirmed that the precautionary measures established by the Complaints and Complaints Commission of the National Electoral Institute against Morena and other political actors continue to be in place to remove publications supporting AMLO from their social networks.
