Already close to the area of collapse, Defense Minister José Luis Gavidija confirmed about 40 people. Rescuers will go to Pataz, with the exception of the battalion of the Wamachuco army.

“The moment we leave a group of rescuers, 20 police officers will enter the area in two helicopters (...). We will go to Trujillo with 10 rescuers. From there, you can take another helicopter to enter the area. We will enter rescuers and doctors to eliminate the wounded”, he declared in the RPP Nauticias.

“In fact, we will have three M17 helicopters in the area to take the wounded to Trujillo and start entering rescuers and doctors. This is the first step we will take. We will move on to this area later to assess the situation.”
