In this regard, Infobae Mexico took on the task of interviewing two specialists who have been dedicating much of their lives to the real estate business, as well as to the different sides of the real estate sector in the country.

Hugo Corona is CEO of the real estate company UARHOKUA, he has been engaged in the a href="https://www.infobae.com/america/mexico/2022/02/18/por-que-se-han-disparado-los-precios-de-las-rentas-en-cdmx-y-que-opciones-hay/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"breal estate business for approximately 15 years and although he is no longer a seller or advisor for the purchase or rental of real estate, during its inception he gained a lot of experience in this field of work.

It's a job where you earn what you want, depending on how much you work,” said Hugo Corona. However, there are several factors in the real estate sector that can influence the salary that those engaged in this business receive for their work.

A clear example of these factors is COVID-19, because with its arrival in Mexico the real estate sector stopped, although not as much as other areas; Hugo Corona acknowledges that it is not yet 100% stabilized but that despite this, sales and rent of real estate such as houses or apartments have been driven by this factor.

For his part, Alberto Tapia, a marketing worker at one of the three most important real estate portals in Mexico, shared the idea that the pandemic increased sales in this sector as “many who saved to go on a trip or buy a car chose to buy a property where they can carry out their activities in homeoffice

Likewise, he explained that from his experience it is possible that young Mexicans in the viral ibTikTok video told the truth about the sales they have made in a certain time, however, he commented that it is important to consider the background of how this real estate company is achieving it.

“We have to consider different factors, such as the lines of business being handled, whether they are private real estate, development or even banking. It also has a great influence on the advertising, physical and digital media that are available,” said Alberto Tapia.

Both marketing expert Alberto Tapia and Hugo Corona, CEO of the real estate company UARHOKUA, shared in an interview with Infobae Mexico that the economic amount received by real estate sellers or advisors depends to a large extent on the scheme under which the real estate company they work for handle.

For example, an advisor who works selling development properties may earn 1% of the house or apartment they are selling; on the contrary, a zone advisor may receive between 4% and 6% of the total value of the property they sell.

Hugo Corona recalled an occasion a couple of years ago when he managed to sell six apartments in a month, which he considers to be one of his greatest achievements. However, he pointed out that sales percentages in real estate vary with respect to the months of the year, but that an advisor with good advertising and products could sell on average one or two real estate monthly.

Although the real estate business is thriving in Mexico, it is necessary to consider that as such there is no academic career dedicated to the study of this work. Whether as a salesperson or consultant, Hugo Corona believes that all the knowledge he has acquired has been thanks to the experience he has gained after years of work, and that “there are still many points to be refined in the country for those who want to dedicate themselves to the real estate sector”.
