Dora Luisa, adopted daughter of Pedro Infante, died tragically 16 years after her father's death. In the midst of an advanced pregnancy, the young woman lost her life on the road.

María Luisa León and Pedro Infante could not have biological children because she was barren, so they decided to adopt one of Pedro's nieces, Dora Luisa. Both got along very well with the girl, they always lived with her and, little by little, they made her part of their small family. They hoped that she would be the symbol of their love, although the infant's life was not so lucky when her father died.

On July 16, 1948 they managed to register her as a biological daughter of both, although her mother was one of Infante's sisters, Carmela. According to the singer's family, Maria Luisa would have been the one who made the decision to adopt it, as she thought that in this way she could keep her husband with her in the midst of his rise to fame.

Carmela did not take well the fact that they had adopted the girl, as she had only entrusted it to her brother because he had financial problems because he was experiencing a stormy marriage relationship.

Dora Luisa's biological mother, formerly called Dora Luz, had to resign herself to her daughter's future, because she was already registered as if she were her brother's parent and, in addition, she knew that Pedro could give her a better life.

Dora Luisa grew up among her uncles, thinking they were her parents, until, after a few years, Carmela revealed to her that she was his real mother. Since then, Dora knew she was adopted, but she didn't care, because she had already grown fond of her parents.

According to Dora's brother, Antonio Infante, in The Story Behind the Myth, upon the death of the Idol of Mexico, Dora's life became somewhat uncertain, because María Luisa would have ignored her.

When Peter died, he had not made any will, so all his fortune was divided according to the law. It was determined that María Luisa would receive half of the inheritance as the widow, while the other half would be divided among the actor's children.

When this news reached Leon's ears, she fought for her daughter to also obtain her corresponding share of the inheritance, however, Maria's lawyers warned her that she would surely have to prove that Dora was the singer's legitimate daughter, only then could she access her father's assets. Since it would be proven otherwise and he would get into legal trouble, he gave up and began to make the girl apart.

Antonio assured that his sister often told him about the injustices that she lived with her adoptive mother, but she couldn't do much about it, other than get married or find ways to support herself financially.

That's why Dora got married and wanted to have a child to start her own family and fill the emotional gaps that her aunt left her, and she did.

Shortly after having celebrated her marriage marriage, she received the news that she was pregnant and thought that she would finally be happy to have achieved one of her purposes, however, when her gestation was already advanced, a car accident took her life.

Dora died on February 17, 1973, at the age of 25.
