The CIES Football Observatory revealed the average length of the coaches on football teams in different leagues. The study revealed that, among the most important leagues in the world, it is the Premier League that gives the most time to the coaches' processes. In addition, in Colombia the average is better than Chile and Brazil.

In the Conmebol affiliated leagues, the country where they give the coaches the most time is Ecuador leading the list with 437 days on average. However, this represents almost a year less of the process, 335 days to be exact. As for the Colombian League, statistics indicate that the coaches last 306 days in charge of the teams, which would be two seasons in Colombian football.

Above Colombia is the already named Ecuador league, followed by Venezuela (398), Paraguay (379), Uruguay (362) and Argentina (315). The list, among 90 leagues, is led by the Georgia Premiership where 72% of coaches have been more than two years and their average rises to 1563. This is also the highlight of the United States league (MLS), which is the sixth in the world with the best average, 872 days, along with the Icelandic league. The lowest average in South America is Peru, barely 72 days long.

In just three months of the year, in Colombia the start of the league already cost the position of three coaches. The first was Juan David Niño, who was replaced by Arturo Boyacá; then was followed by Argentine Néstor Craviotto, who was replaced by Armando Osma at Atletico Bucaramanga; the last to leave the position of coach was Alejandro Restrepo, who was in charge of Atlético Nacional. In his replacement, Hernán Darío Herrera arrived as an interim DT.

Colombian football is experiencing a difficult present where it has lost prominence internationally in recent years. One example, the elimination of Atlético Nacional and Millonarios from the first phase of the Conmebol Libertadores by Olimpia and Fluminense respectively.

In addition, another reflection is the current level of the Colombia National Team that complicated its qualification to Qatar 2022, and it will have to define its fate against Bolivia and Venezuela to at least have a chance to play the repechage to the World Cup event. A voice authorized to speak about this situation is coach Luis Fernando Suárez, who is currently directing the selected 'Tico'.

During an interview with the portal Futbolred, the former Atlético Nacional coach was clear when it came to talking about Colombian professional football.

For the former coach of Honduras, Colombia has a wide variety of players and they must look for the best tools to develop their skills but above all better professionals.

He also referred to the game system of the Dimayor Betplay League, since according to Luis Fernando Suárez, the number of matches and tournaments does not allow players to prepare in the best way.
