Ricardo Gareca: 90% of Peruvians approve the coach's management, says Ipsos

81% of respondents believe that the bicolor will be at the Qatar 2022 World Cup and another 85% want the Argentine strategist's contract to be renewed.

This 2022, coach Ricardo Gareca turns seven years at the helm of the Peruvian national team. Their statistics include taking the 'White-Red' to a World Cup after 36 years and reaching a Copa America final after 44 years. Today, it is one step away from taking Peru to its second consecutive World Cup Joust.

In a survey conducted by Ipsos for the newspaper El Comercio, 90% of Peruvians approve the management of the Argentine strategist, 5% disapprove and another 5% do not. Other data is that 81% believe that Peru will reach the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

This Thursday 24th Peru vs Uruguay will be played for the Qualifiers in the Centennial. In that stadium, the 'Blanquirroja' has not been able to beat the 'charruas' since 1981. However, 55% of Peruvian fans believe in victory, another 32% in a draw and 5% think they will lose.

On the last date of the South American qualifiers, the Peruvian national team faces Paraguay at the National Stadium. In this case, 69% of respondents believe that the bicolor will be imposed against the 'Albirroja', 19% consider it a draw and 5% think it loses.

GARECA RENEWAL

The poll reveals that 85% want Ricardo Gareca's contract to be renewed, without considering the results he obtained in the last two matches of the qualifiers. Only 10% mention that the 'Tiger' process should not be followed while 5% do not need to be followed.

The sample consisted of 1,008 people interviewed in urban areas, men and women over 18 years of age from all socioeconomic levels, residing in urban Peru.

PERU IN THE PLAYOFFS

The Peruvian national team will face Uruguay next Thursday, March 24 at 6:30pm (Peruvian time) at Centenario Stadium. There won't be much bicolor fans due to the high price of tickets.

And on Tuesday, March 29, Peru will face Paraguay at the National Stadium in Lima, as the closing of the South American qualifiers and waiting for the 'everyone's team' to qualify directly or occupy a playoff spot to attend the World Cup in Qatar.
