59 Countries Win Medals; China Leads

Fifty-nine countries win medals at Youth Olympics through day five of competition ... China still leads with 22 total medals and 13 gold medals.

Fifty-nine countries have won at least one medal at the inaugural Youth Olympics in Singapore.

China still leads the Youth Olympic Games medal table after pushing Russia out of the top spot Wednesday. China has 22 total medals, while Russia has 24 total medals after five days of competition. China leads because it has 13 gold medals. Russia comes in second with 11 gold medals.

Italy has moved ahead of South Kora to claim third place with 13 total medals and six gold medals. South Korea is in fourth place with eight total medals and five gold.

Host nation Singapore has three bronze and one silver.
