New news came out about Carolina Gaitan, actress who lent her voice to the film 'Encanto' and is preparing to sing in the 94th edition of the Oscars, who was included as part of the cast of Quicksand, a survival thriller that Disney is betting on.

As the Deadline portal revealed, the Colombian will star in this new production alongside Canadian actor and writer Allan Hawco, remembered for other titles such as República de Doyle and Jack Ryan.

The film, written by Matt Pitts (Westworld) and produced by Richard Switzer, Martin Ramos, John Harris and Kris Meyer, is currently being shot in Bogotá, Colombia.

In addition, other producers such as Jason Cherubini (Dawn's Light Media), Nicolás Reyes (Elemental Stories) and Sean Patrick Burke (222 Pictures) also participate.

Regarding the plot of this film, Colombian director Andrés Beltrán let it be known that it tells the story of a married couple on the brink of divorce, who are trapped in quicksand while walking through a Colombian rainforest. It is a struggle for survival, as they fight against the elements of the jungle and must work together to escape.

“When I started reading Matt Pitts' script, I couldn't stop. It's such an exciting and suspenseful story that I was immediately hooked. Having Carolina and Allan play our leading roles makes this a dream project,” said the filmmaker.

Carolina Gaitan confirmed the information through her Instagram account, with a post in which she showed her expectation of this film project.

The reactions were immediate and, in addition to those who follow the Colombian actress, her friends dedicated themselves to congratulating her. Mauro Castillo, Roberto Cano, Angie Cepeda and Valerie Domínguez; some of whom sent him messages.

It should be remembered that Carolina Gaitán and Mauro Castillo were invited to sing 'There is no talk of Bruno', during the Oscar gala that will be held on March 27. And although the song is not nominated for awards, as is the case with 'Two caterpillars', which will also be part of the presentations of the event.

'There is no talk of Bruno', has been one of the most successful of the film and viral on all the world networks, to the point of reaching first place on the Billboard 'Hot 100' list.

But not only will these two artists be at the gala, they will also be joined by Sebastián Yatra, singer who will perform 'Dos oruguitas', nominated in the category of 'Best Original Song'.
