What will the coronation of the Queen of Carnival in Barranquilla 2022 be like

This Friday, March 25th, the coronation of Valeria Charris will be held in Barranquilla as queen of the Carnival of Barranquilla 2022, after almost two years without the realization of carnestolendas.

The show will be called 'Monarchy: Tradition and the Rebirth of Carnival' and will be given by Mónica Lindo and Juliette de Alba. The event, according to the organization, is the staging that will pay tribute to the natural leadership of the Kings of the Barranquilla Carnival.

The Sovereigns of the Festival will personify the indigenous, Spanish and African ethnic groups to remind us of the importance of brotherhood, inclusion, resilience and new opportunities. The staging has the participation of more than 400 artists on stage.

The coronation show has seven great scenes that begin with a historical journey since 1560 with the incursion of flamenco and the double pass, reaching 1713 in San Basilio de Palenque with the presentation of bullerengue, mapalé, black dance, drums from my land, bilanda and champeta.
