Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), 25 Mar A team from the Vietnamese Army found the remains of 25 Vietcong soldiers buried in a mass grave in 1966, during the Vietnam War, thanks to information provided by an American veteran. The veteran, who has preferred to remain anonymous, offered the authorities the coordinates and maps of an area on Xuan Son hill, in the village of An Nghia in the province of Binh Dinh, in the center of the country, according to the digital newspaper VNExpress on Friday. The Vietcong was how the guerrillas on the communist side were known, who in the Vietnam War fought against the pro-western south supported by the United States. After two weeks of excavations, search teams found the remains of the 25 Vietnamese soldiers along with their clothes and shoes and bullets. According to the information provided by the American veteran and the data available to the authorities, between 60 and 80 Vietcong soldiers lost their lives around that hill in 1966, so search continues.
