Neymar has the highest salary in Paris Saint-Germain (press)

The average gross monthly salary of Paris Saint-Germain players stands at 990,000 euros ($1,091,000) and Brazilian attacker Neymar is the highest paid player with just over 4 million euros (4.5 million dollars) per month, according to estimates published on Tuesday by the sports newspaper L'Équipe.

PSG, the leader of Ligue 1 but recently eliminated in the round of 16 of the Champions League by Real Madrid, is the most generous club with its players and coaching staff in France, as expected.

In the ranking of the salary of Ligue 1 players established by L'Équipe, the top 14 positions are held by members of PSG, which since 2011 has been controlled by the Qatari fund Qatar Investment Authority (QIA).

Neymar dominates the ranking with a gross monthly salary of 4,083,000 euros ($4,500,000), ahead of Argentine star Lionel Messi, signed in August 2021 and would have a salary of 3,375,000 ($3,720,000) per month.

Kylian Mbappé, whose contract ends in June, would have a monthly salary of 2,220,000 euros (2,425,000 dollars).

You have to go down to 15th place to find the first player in Ligue 1 who is not part of PSG. He is Monaco's attacker Wissam Ben Yedder, with 650,000 euros ($716,000).

According to L'Équipe figures, the highest paid player in Europe outside France is Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United), with 2.6 million euros ($2.86 million) gross monthly.
