Paris, 22 Mar Danish winger Mikkel Hansen, one of the stars of world handball, is recovering from a pulmonary embolism as a result of a knee operation he underwent in Denmark, his club, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) reported on Tuesday. “Currently under treatment by the PSG medical department, Mikkel Hansen is out of danger today, although he will have to follow anticoagulant treatment for between 4 and 6 months,” explained the Parisian club. Hansen, 34, will therefore be out for the remainder of the season. PSG stated that the lateral underwent surgery last Monday in Denmark “to heal from a cartilaginous problem that had been dragging on his right knee for weeks.” However, on his return to Paris, he contracted venous thrombosis in one leg, accompanied by a pulmonary embolism.” CHIEF atc/sat
