They were linked to prosecution for the kidnapping and murder of a local businessman, who was found in a drug grave with five other people

Authorities from Quintana Roo linked to the process and transferred to Cereso de B.J. this Sunday, March 20, 11 members of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG) who reportedly participated in the kidnapping and murder of businessman Federico Luna Cervantes, former Coparmex leader in the state.

Through its social networks, the Attorney General's Office of the State of Quintana Roo (FGE) reported that the 11 suspects were transferred to the prison by personnel of the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena), the National Guard (GN), and the State Secretariat of Public Security (SSP).

After carrying out the arrest, prosecutors obtained information on the place where the victims of the hit men were buried, so they conducted a search on a property near the home where the hit men were arrested, where five bodies were found, including those of the businessman and one of his escorts.

“As a result of the investigative acts and the interviews conducted so far, five dead bodies (all males) were found and it has been possible to demonstrate that, at the moment, there are sufficient evidence linking detainees with the deprivation of liberty of the businessman with initials F.L.C. occurred on December 14, 2021″, reported the agency.

According to local media reports, investigations into those responsible for the kidnapping and disappearance of Federico Luna Cervantes had begun about two months before the operation on Friday, 18, as the prosecutor's office had previously issued a public record on the disappearance of the businessman.

After locating the five bodies in the clandestine grave, FGE experts carried out extensive work to try to find more indications of the crimes, after which they would have found three other bones in the place; information that has not been made official by the Quintana Roo authorities.

The head of the FGE, Óscar Montes de Oca, announced the dismantling of the criminal cell in the service of the CJNG composed of 10 men and one woman, who had been tracked for a couple of months. According to the State Secretary of Public Security, Lucio Hernández Gutiérrez, the arrest was achieved on the morning of March 18.

The detainees said they belonged to the criminal group called the Jalisco New Generation Cartel and that their illegal activities consisted of locating and depriving of liberty people related to drug trafficking activities in order to align them and obtain information from other narco-nudists,” said the prosecutor.

Authorities said that the criminal cell is responsible for a series of murders and attacks recorded in recent weeks. But intelligence work allowed the location and assurance of most of the members.
