Leon (Mexico), 17 Mar Argentina's Ariel Holan, coach of the Mexican Leon, said Thursday that his team deserved to beat the Seattle Sounders of the MLS in the second leg of the concacaf Champions League quarterfinals. “We deserved to win by more than one goal, but we weren't blunt. We put passion and courage, we created the chances to win, but the ball didn't go in,” said the strategist after his team tied 1-1 against Sounders and lost the quarter series 4-1. Last week the Lion was thrashed in the first leg of the quarterfinals in Seattle 3-0. In Thursday's match, the Lion scored several scoring chances, but it was not forceful. The visitor endured and scored a penalty through Colombian Freddy Montero. Leon scored 1-1 over the end thanks to Fidel Ambriz. The coach acknowledged that his leaders did not recover from the blow that meant losing 3-0 in the first game of the tie. “We played a two-game key and in the first we didn't do things well, we were 3-0 against, it was not easy to come back and we must admit that we were conditioned by that match in the United States,” he explained. Holan stressed how difficult it was to jump on the court with the obligation to score. “The picture already looked complex because we had no margin for error and despite the pressure we were protagonists, so much so that we had at least five or six clear scoring opportunities, but we lacked precision and forcefulness.” The Argentine denied that he is worried about the failures in front of the goal. “We have to aim the guns for improvement in front of the arc because today we even use up to two front centers.
