Professor Senovia Chacón, from the rural school located in Moral de Páramo, Santander, experienced a moment of panic, along with 20 of her students: while she was teaching a man attacked her with a firearm in front of minors.
The subject entered the institution and wore a black rubber cap and boots, entered the teacher's classroom and put the gun to her head to steal her belongings. Later he took his cell phone and told him that he was doing it to help a companion who had a bite wound by an animal.
Filemón Solano, mayor of the municipality of Páramo, said that “she was assaulted in front of the students, the guy enters with a firearm and submits her, so the truth was that it caused quite an impact between the teacher and the children”.
“The police are already taking over the case and doing routine patrols, I asked the village commander to have more patrols, because people are very worried after this case, because it is a classroom and it is very serious,” the official added.
According to the authorities, the teacher's ID, which was between the lining of her cell phone, was found lying on the way out of the municipality to El Socorro (Santander). Solano insisted that robberies have been recorded in his jurisdiction in recent days.
“At the moment we have intelligence officials, judicial police and the National Model of Community Surveillance by Quadrants taking action to find the person responsible for these events,” the Police reported.
It should be remembered that in recent weeks there have been cases of theft in the department of Santander, such as that of a minor under 17 years of age who was attacked with a knife by three unknown subjects in the Santa Cruz neighborhood, in Girón, municipality in the metropolitan area of Bucaramanga, apparently for stealing his cell phone.
As well as the painful case of Nickol Valentina, the student of the Normal Superior School in Bucaramanga, who died from receiving three attacks with a knife and for the same cause, for theft of her cell phone.
This occurred when the minor left her school on Thursday, February 24 at 2 in the afternoon, crossed the pedestrian bridge and entered the tunnel, and while walking down the stairs she was approached by her killer, who stabbed her three times that killed her six hours later at the Santander University Hospital.
Pedro José Trujillo Pérez, a Venezuelan citizen who murdered Rodriguez, accepted the charges charged by the Municipal Criminal Judge of Guarantees of Bucaramanga, who sent him to jail in the last hours.
“In the interrogation he said that he had seen the girl alone in the tunnel, approached her and grabbed her by the neck, that she managed to let go, came back and took her by the neck and stabbed her in the neck and another who does not remember where and flees. That when the girl left she was still standing,” said the prosecutor in the case at the preliminary hearings that took place last weekend.
It is noteworthy that compared to 2020, this year the number of bumanguese who feel unsafe in the capital of Santander increased by 14.4 percentage points this year. During 2021, assaults and thefts in all their forms totaled 6,581 cases in Bucaramanga and exceeded the consolidated record of the 12 months of the previous year, which was 5,826 such events.
The authorities invited citizens to provide information through the 123 hotline or the nearest police station.
