Golden 25

Around the Ringspresents the second Golden 25.

The Golden 25 recognizes thought-leaders and personalities worldwide projected to have the greatest impact on the Olympic Movement in 2014.

Nominees come from all areas of the Olympic Movement: sport, the IOC, marketing, federations, organizing committees and more.

Women's Handball Championships

Twenty-four teams are facing off in the Women's Handball World Championships.

Competition began on December 6 in Serbia and will continue through December 22.

Norway are the defending champions.

Winter Universiade

Trentino, Italy is hosting the world's best university wintersport athletes during the Winter Universiade, through December 21.

Around the Ringswill be on-the-scene for the Universiade.

All of the Winter Olympic events--except sliding sports--will be contested.

Olympic curling qualification

The curling Olympic qualification tournament ended on Sunday in Fuessen, Germany.

Eight men's teams and seven women's teams battled it out for the remaining two spots in Sochi.

Competition took place at the BLZ Arena.
