(ATR) The IOC President is expected to arrive in the Asian Games host city late on Thursday.

Thomas Bach will then stay until the end of the Games on Sept. 2, Around the Rings understands.

ATR could not ascertain what events Bach will attend but it is customary for Bach to attend the closing ceremony.

Even if Bach’s Jakarta schedule isn’t disclosed the INASGOC organizing committee says it’s been hard at work anticipating his arrival.

"We’ve had arrangements and meetings just to prepare for this," Danny Buldansyah, INASGOC spokesperson told ATR.

"We are very excited."

Bach is scheduled to leave Switzerland later on Aug. 29.

Multi-sport events routinely invite the IOC President to attend events. Bach has appeared at, among other events, the European Games, Pan American Games and the Super Bowl.
