The Democratic Center is experiencing its lowest hours after the elections to Congress on March 13. Without Álvaro Uribe's presence on the list, his representation declined for the next parliamentary term.
According to RCN Radio, the terrible vote by the ruling party led to many members of the collective thinking of resigning in order to form a separate party or join another political movement.
The media says that those next to make that decision are politicians close to President Iván Duque such as Gabriel Santos, Edwar Rodríguez and Susana Correa, who was recently appointed Minister of Housing.
The station adds that people close to them would have told them that a meeting of some of these uribists was held recently, where the possibility of abandoning the ship was discussed.
On the date, the FM says it would take place until after July 20, when the current term of Congress ends or until August 7, when Duque comes out of power and the next president of Colombia takes office.
Initially, the Democratic Center sought to impact a sample of almost 600,000 citizens, but, at the last minute, the numbers, since they don't even come close to this figure. RCN Radio learned that so far the survey has been answered by nearly 28,000 people and only 13,000 of them would be supporters or activists of the political force. These figures are worrying, since the percentage of participation is considerably low and does not come close to initial expectations, apparently the main reason for extending deadlines and getting support from other citizens in the days to come.
On social networks, many people have indicated that their mobile phones have received a text message, in order to participate in the survey despite not being military with this party, a situation that sparks the controversy over the management of databases. However, this situation would have to do directly with the figures known to RCN Radio, as it shows that many of the people who have participated in the survey do not actively engage with the Democratic Center.
This media outlet was also able to know the estimated numbers so far, regarding the support that presidential candidates who are still in the race are receiving, since Federico Gutiérrez would be the one who is taking the majority support, being configured so far, as the candidate receiving the support of uribism in the upcoming elections on May 29.
The maximum period in which the survey would be enabled would be until March 28. The main question that those questioned must answer gives them the possibility of choosing the candidate they consider to be similar to their followers, among which are: Ingrid Betancourt, Rodolfo Hernández, Enrique Gómez, Federico Gutiérrez, John Milton Rodríguez and as a private case Sergio Fajardo.
However, taking into account that it is not only seeking to define the candidate, but also, the ideas that he must maintain in his government program, points are established such as: democratic security, agricultural development, peace negotiations with the ELN, environmental issues, reduction of corruption, strengthening employment and other issues of national importance.
The particular case of this study arises with the inclusion of Sergio Fajardo within the possibilities. It should be noted that Álvaro Uribe has mentioned in recent weeks the name of the former mayor of Medellín, in addition, in the last few hours he indicated that he received a gift from a mutual friend with this candidate and in his last pronouncements he has not had strong criticism against him.
