The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) will conduct trial verifications at test events held at all venues within Tokyo, which will be hosted by the Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as the International Federations and the National Federations, for the purpose of gaining actual operational experience of running the events in preparation for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020. Details are listed below.

1. About the test events

The objective of the test events is mainly to confirm and improve the operation capabilities of the competitions and the Games as a whole to ensure the success of the Tokyo 2020 Games. The test events will be held as though they were official games, as this is an important way of verifying the TMG’s operational capabilities, such as ‘last-mile’ operations and smooth transportation operations.

2. Examples of trial verification

As trial verification, the City Cast candidates will work at train stations nearest to the venues to gain actual operational experience, depending on the size and content of the test events.
