Brazil 2014 and Rio Olympic Preparations

The Independent's Chris Maume says that if Rio de Janeiro "can't handle the 2016 Olympics, London must offer an encore."Strikes, delays and "funding hold-ups galore" continue to plague preparations in Rio.

As Brazil gears up for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, CNN explores whether the country has taken its eye off "the greatest show on earth -- the Olympics."

The Associated Press discusses the "unusually blunt public warning" issued to Rio by IOC vice president John Coates this week. Coates reportedly called the delayed preparations for the 2016 Games "the worst I have experienced."
