The International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) and the Global Association of International Sports Federation (GAISF) are pleased to announce that the IFSC has secured a series of web domains using the .sport internet extension.

The domain is operated by GAISF and already has over 1 000 organisations registered to use the dedicated .sport domain. GAISF’s ownership protects the integrity of the extension, ensuring that only fully qualified organisations — governing bodies, organisations, clubs and businesses — can use it. Furthermore, to ensure that domain names ending in .sport are allocated to parties whose role matches the expectations for the respective domain name, every registration has to go through a validation process.

By securing a series of .sport domain names, the IFSC continues to strengthen its brand identity as the global leader of Sport Climbing in the digital world. Moreover, the .sport domain increases visibility for Search Engine Optimisation.

The portfolio created by the IFSC includes an initial list of domain names, including ifsc.sport, ifsc-climbing.sport and sport-climbing.sport, and an extended group of domain names that will be made available to IFSC Member Federations at a reduced annual fee, should they wish to use them.
