A pesar de que EE.UU y México tuvieron oportunidades de abrir el marcador, fue Jonathan dos Santos el único hombre que fue capaz de perforar el arco rival y 'El Tri' obtuvo su octavo campeonato de la Copa Oro en el estadiio Soldier Field, de Chicago.
