Paris24 announces Eiffel Tower as venue for beach volleyball and 5-a-side soccer

There have been many landmark Olympic venues throughout the history of the games.

From the Bird’s Nest in Beijing, the diving venue over Barcelona or the open air swimming pools in Athens - each host city seeks to create their own unique signature venue.

Enter the Eiffel Tower. As one of the most iconic structures in the world, the Eiffel Tower will host two events in the Summer of 2024.

Beach volleyball and 5-a-side soccer will duel it out under the 1,083 foot tower that sits in the Champ de Mars in the heart of Paris.

In addition to the Eiffel tower Paris24 is also planning to incorporate another attribute in France’s capital city - the Seine river.

Opening ceremonies for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games will take place on the Seine. Athletes will be in 160 different boats, with approximately 600,000 riverside spectators. Boats will float by the famous landmarks and ending at the Eiffel Tower.
