This Monday, the District Secretariat for Mobility (SDM) reported on virtual trainings aimed at taxi drivers in Bogotá. These trainings begin at 9:00 a.m. on scheduled days that are April 7, 11, 21, 25 and 28.
According to National Decree 1075 of 2015, this is an informal training offer because it has a duration of less than 160 hours. For this training offer, a certificate of attendance is granted and does not lead to any qualification or certificate of occupational aptitude.

These trainings begin at 9:00 a.m. on the scheduled days and the entity asks users to enter at least 10 minutes before the session and not drive the vehicle while participating.
According to Mobility, the objective of the program is to promote the training of taxi drivers in Bogotá so that the city has a greater number of professionals providing individual public transport or taxi services.

On the other hand, they also announced the weekly virtual training days to improve taxi travel experiences. In order to access these SDM days, drivers must register in advance on the form sent to companies and which is disseminated through social networks and via email. Virtual training days are held, with some exceptions, on Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
It is noteworthy that, in preliminary figures of the entity, with a cut as of Friday, March 25, 2022, in the city there have already been 105 road actors killed in traffic, of which 44 were motorcycle users (driver+companion), 40 pedestrians, 13 cyclists, 7 passengers and 2 drivers. Motorcyclists, the most vulnerable road actor on the roads, most die due to loss of vehicle control, self-harm, lack of expertise and interaction with large vehicles.
Likewise, an analysis by the SDM reveals that, of 380 motorcycle users (driver+companion) who died in road accidents between January 2019 and September 2021, 21% (79) were less than two years old after having issued their driver's license.
