In the most recent days within the Historical Pact in the department of Huila, discontent has formed in certain sectors due to an appointment made by Senator Roy Barreras.
This is the appointment as director of Petro's presidential campaign in Huila, the Conservative leader, former Superintendent of Societies and former manager of the Electrifier, Hernando Ruiz López. Who did not last long in office after being criticized by the Conservative Party and the Historical Pact.
The youth of the Hulian Historical Pact were among the first to oppose the designation that Roy Barreras had taken since “he is not authorized to appoint or remove departmental links”, likewise they rejected the integration of a sector that represents the ideals of the progressive community: “We regret what happened... where Senator Roy Barreras appoints a manager without consulting the different sectors of the pact and the political, social and trade union forces that did not accompany the Historical Pact campaign, but who will be in the President Petro campaign.”

Another sector that strongly criticized the decision was the Conservado Party, who recalled that the traditional movement is accompanying Federico Gutiérrez's candidacy one hundred percent.
Senator Conservative Esperanza Andrade said: “I do not know, I do not approve or authorize, even in particular, the decision of Dr. Hernando Ruiz López to support another electoral alternative, of which I was not even informed previously.”
After the strong denials by both sectors, the fleeting manager of Petro's campaign in Huila resigned, stating: “I have received, from different sources, messages of satisfaction for what happened yesterday, as I have also perceived very radical positions of rejection... The latter makes me think about how difficult it will be for someone, who has just arrived at the Historical Pact, to fully fulfill their responsibility to coordinate administrative and financial tasks with groups within the interior that do not share or accept their connection, especially because of the precarious time that exists for it,” said Hernando Ruiz Lopez.

The Conservative leader stressed that like him, there are several members of his community who support progressivism because they want change in the country, he even stressed that despite not being involved in the Historical Pact campaign, he believes that Gustavo Petro is what the country needs.
“The next coming of the candidate could be the opportunity for him to assert which of the two positions on openness, or not, of the political spectrum that supports his project is the right one, and that the person who gets to take charge of such a great responsibility as the administrative and financial coordination of his campaign enjoys of the sufficient support it requires”, concluded the conservative leader of Huila.
