In recent days there was a rumor that Cisneros would be about to leave Chiverio to try his luck in Major League Soccer (MLS), so he would join Atlanta United. With the official release, it didn't take long for the North American team to present it as its new reinforcement for the 2022 season. Ronaldo Cisneros will join the team as a loan with option to buy.

The main reason for his departure was due to the lack of minutes on the court. Due to the high competition in the offensive part, with players such as Alexis Vega, Ángel Zaldivar and José Juan Macías, Ronaldo Cisneros did not have an outstanding performance in Chivas, so he remained largely on the club's bench and in its basic forces.

The numbers of the Torreón native with the rojiblanca shirt projected little participation on the court because during the Guardians 2020 he only played five games, which in total accumulated 124 minutes played. One tournament later, in the Guardians 2021 he did not participate with the first team.
