Daniel Felipe Martínez has shown that he is a very high level runner, who can be given the confidence to represent not only his team, Ineos Grenadiers, but also the country.

Since joining the English team, the Cundinamarque rider has made it clear that his goal is to lead in some competitions, but not because he is believed in skills, but because in each competition he has had an important performance.

Since performing at the 2022 Giro d'Italia as one of Egan Bernal's squires for the general standings, Daniel has won the love of cycling fans around the world, as many say that without him Bernal would not have had it so easy to win the Italian competition.

For 2022, when Egan Bernal recovers from his severe accident that he suffered at the beginning of the year, Daniel takes the lead of his team in a great way, managing to stay in Colombia with the National Time Trial Championship, making two podiums in the Tour of the Algarve and Paris Nice, while in the Tour of the Basque Country he was champion.

Martínez now has to prepare for what will be the 2022 Tour de France where he will arrive with the intention of being the co-leader of British Adam Yates, although the Colombian's form, for many, is enough to be the main card of the team for the most important race in the world.

So Daniel would be ready to do some important competitions such as two of the Ardennes classics: the Walloon Arrow that will be played on April 20 and the Liege Bastogne Liege on the 24th of the same month.

He would also give him one more stage round before going to the Tour de France, in order to complete his preparation for that race. It would be the Tour of Switzerland on June 12 where he would hope to have his best possible presentation.

Although these competitions have not yet been confirmed by the team, it is presumed that this is the path that will follow, according to the portal ProCyclingStats, to be able to complete the race block you need to get ready to the 'Grande Boucle'.

On the Tour, Daniel would be facing the two-time champion of the competition, Tadej Pogacar of UAE Team Emirates and possibly Primoz Roglic of Jumbo Visma if his right leg injury allows it and other rivals of great value such as Rigoberto Urán, Nairo Quintana, Miguel Ángel Lopez, as well as Vingegaard who last year was second in the podium.

The French round will start on July 1 and it is expected that both Daniel Martínez and the rest of the Colombians who will participate there, will be able to leave the names of their squads and that of Colombia up, as Nairo Quintana, Rigoberto Urán among others have already done on several occasions.

Martínez could give a big surprise this second season with Ineos Grenadiers, given that what he has been developing at the sporting level indicates that he is on track to be the sole leader in competitions of the highest value and to win the victory in some big race as Nairo Quintana already achieved in the Giro d'Italia, the Vuelta España or Egan on the Tour and the Giro.
