Interview with the protagonists of “Pálpito”.

On April 20, the Colombian series, Pálpito, arrives on Netflix, which will feature 14 episodes of 45 minutes. The plot, created and written by Leonardo Padrón, and directed by Camilo Vega, takes as its starting point Camila's health (played by Ana Lucía Domínguez). The girl suffers a cardiac arrest just on her wedding day and in order to continue living she needs a new heart to be transplanted. Her boyfriend, Zacarias (played by Sebastián Martínez), is a man with a dark job linked to the upper echelons of power but who has his weak point in this woman. Therefore, he will do everything possible to get the organ that Camila needs to continue to live.

That's where Simon (Michel Brown) and his wife Valeria (Margarita Muñoz) come into action, who love each other and are parents of a teenager and a boy. Valeria has compatibility with Camila and is kidnapped after she and her husband have a confusing car accident. Already in the hands of Zacharias' henchmen (who are engaged in organ trafficking), Valeria is killed and her heart ends up in Camila's body.

This is how Simon's revenge to find the culprits will begin, but he will cross paths with sweet Camila, who having the heart of his wife will completely destabilize him in his desire for revenge.

In communication with Infobae, the three actors discussed this new Latin American production before its premiere, which hopes to meet the same fate as other fictions in the region such as Café with the aroma of a woman or La reina del flow.

- How would you define Pálpito? Because it has a combination of many genres

Ana Lucía: It's a story full of drama, passion, mystery. It shows a bit the obsessive and controlling side of love, but also the pretty side like admiration and respect.

Michel: Talk about human relationships, what you would be willing to do for love, talk about family, talk about oblivion, talk about power. I think we have a series that doesn't just focus on a love story or action. It has an air of multigenre, suddenly there is a great love story, suddenly it can be a thriller, but I do think it has something very particular that is a perfect hybrid between a story that has to do with love, although it is not a melodrama. It is an impeccably filmed series, very well photographed, with a great cast of actors and the main thing, I think Pálpito is a great story.

Michel, your character is a man who must go through a duel but also, get up quickly because he has his children on the one hand and on the other hand his need to avenge the death of his wife. Which of the two things weighs the most on Simon?

Michel: Generally in almost every case you get ready for what might happen, you see the way and suddenly this character's fate puts him in a very complicated situation where the roles of the family begin to change. Not only does it impact him, but he also begins to play the role of absent father and mother. His life is completely out of control and begins to have many different layers. The truth is that that was a gift. I had never encountered in my career a character so interesting in that sense, with a continuous pain on the surface, with a character that is completely overwhelmed but who needs to find an axis, because he needs to give this calm that his family does not have. And I think that life does not give him the time to mourn, life puts him in such a borderline situation, that he has to remain disguised as nothing happens and that is precisely what is interesting about the character. I had the chance to watch the whole series and I think that rarely as an actor happens to me that I watch a production and it gives me tremendous pain.

In your case Sebastian, your character is the opposite of Simon's, he is that kind of sinister men who handle nefarious codes, what was it like to get into the shoes of Zechariah?

Sebastián: I relied a lot on ego, where ego is that very strong engine, that you come to believe you to be the king of the world. There is nothing superior to you, not even God, nothing supreme, and that starting point is crazy and it is a character that I really liked. And I think humanity suffers from it a lot, because that power causes it to become a sick mind. But at the same time there is that human part that can never be lost. That love, this woman who is also a different character from him, from his world, is a woman who is in a foreign place and who asks yourself: “what is she doing there?” That's his weak point.

Michel, in your case as an Argentinian, what do you miss about your land?

Michel: I miss the family first, I've been away for 20-something years and the fact that I have the family away feels. I try to go as far as I can.

But you still maintain the Argentine accent when you speak...

Michel: The other day I tried to speak in Argentinian and they told me they didn't understand what I was talking about (laughs). I was told he was imitating an Argentinian. But I think I miss family and food. Thank God Argentinian food is replicated in each of the countries in which I live, so I can indulge myself there.

In Argentina when they mention you in notes they still mention you as the “former Play with me”, how do you remember that part of your life?

Michel: With a lot of love. It is thanks to that that that I am where I am, and I am very grateful to her (Cris Morena). I told him the other day we were talking on the phone, the truth was a gift. One day, by chance, sitting in a hallway, he told me to stop by... I wasn't going to do a casting or anything, so I always remember him very fondly. I hope I have the chance to go to work in Buenos Aires very soon.

Did you get any proposed proposals for filming in Argentina?

Michel: Yes, there were two very interesting ones, one for a while could not be done and there is something going around there. In fact, the other day I talked to Cris (Morena) who was recording in Mexico and I'm looking forward to it, and there are a couple more things going around. I'd really love to.
