A terrible crime has shaken the population of the San Martín region. A subject was charged and arrested for sexually abusing and murdering a minor aged just one year and 8 months old in the town of Selva Alegre, in the district of El Porvenir. The aggressor was the girl's stepfather.
Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Peruvian National Police (PNP) arrested the man, after the body was found lifeless in a ravine.
The little girl's mother had started a search with the help of her neighbors when she could not find her daughter in her home. It became known that the woman had left her in the care of the now accused when she went out shopping.
The murderer was transferred to the city of Tarapoto from Selva Alegre so that the corresponding investigations could begin. Once you arrive there, you will be immediately taken to the Institute of Legal Medicine for the respective proceedings.
The case will then go to the Criminal Investigation Division (Divincri), where the Public Prosecutor's Office will handle the investigation.
This is a new case that shadows Peru after what happened in Chiclayo: Juan Antonio Enríquez García, the 'Chiclayo Monster', abducted, tortured and sexually abused a 3-year-old girl.
CASO DAMARIS
A similar case occurred in the Chiclayo region, which has also aroused the indignation and anger of the population, and for which a protest was held towards the Palace of Justice.
Last Thursday, a 3-year-old girl was found tied hand and foot with packing tape after 15 hours of captivity. The police found her in a state of traumatic shock, after a 48-year-old man kidnapped and sexually abused her.
The subject's name is Juan Antonio Enríquez García, who has been nicknamed as the ' Chiclayo Monster'. The man took advantage of his parents' distraction to get the minor's attention and get her into his car. He took her to a house located in the El Santuario urbanization in Chiclayo, where he committed the crime.
The search for the girl became known when, after asking the PNP for help, the parents sent messages through social networks. The mother's WhatsApp audio went viral in the city and immediately mobilized all the neighbors, who shared photographs of the minor.
“Please help me spread, my daughter has disappeared, I can't find her, please spread it on television, help me publish it. My daughter took her by a blue car, here all over Lora Avenue, please, I beg you,” she said sobbing.
Security cameras had managed to capture the moment when the individual carried and took the minor in his blue vehicle with an unknown direction. Quickly, taxi drivers and drivers agreed that they had seen this unit and joined the search for the little one.
Around 8:45 in the morning, Divincri officers found the BYM-238 license plate vehicle and intervened with Enríquez García. The subject, without remorse, confessed that he had abducted the minor and kept her on the second floor of his home.
This news mobilized thousands of Chiclayans, who gathered outside the Divincri waiting for the aggressor's departure to stone him. Another group of people, among collectives, relatives and friends close to the girl's family, walked the streets carrying white balloons and shouting out loud “justice for Damaris”, “death penalty for the monster” and “children are not touched”.
