French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Ledrian accused Russia on Thursday of “pretending to negotiate” a ceasefire with Ukraine, continuing the offensive against neighboring countries that began on February 24.

Ledrian wrote to the Paris newspaper: “The logic of Russia (...) is based on a common trilogy: indiscriminate bombing, humanitarian “corridors” (...) The dialogue that ended was nothing more than a pretend negotiation.

Russia and Ukrainians continued negotiations on Wednesday. Moscow said that according to the Swedish or Austrian model, the focus of the talks was on Ukraine's future neutrality. Kiev, on the other hand, rejected this comparison.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has already expressed his willingness to abandon Ukraine's accession to NATO, which is one of the main arguments for Russia to start an invasion.

“Russia chose to continue to use weapons,” Ledrian said, “temporarily rejecting” a ceasefire, stressing Moscow's demands for “surrender to Ukraine” and “minimalism.”
