Jeff Bezos, he is one of the richest people in the world. For several years he has accumulated a fortune with Amazon, as well as Blue Origin and the Washington Post. To get to this point, he has done several things, advising those who do business that follow it.

In mid-2021, he quit Amazon's president and was replaced by Andy Jash, CEO of Amazon Web Services until then. On the way out, he shared his last email with shareholders in which he reported his experience and offered advice.

In addition, on the occasion of the Axel Springer Award he received at the time in an interview with Business Insider in 2018, he shared other tips on entrepreneurship and did not make a big mistake in the process.

Dar El Paso

“If you start thinking about things that you regret when you are 0 years old, almost everything is something you didn't do. I rarely regret trying it, but in the end it didn't work.” The tycoon said.

He advises not to be afraid, not to think too much about things and to take action. It should be remembered that Jeff Bezos worked in the investment world of New York until one day he was tired and started his own business.

“It's something I always wanted to do when I was a kid. I'm one of those people who think about how they can improve when they see something.” He said.

Stick to your project

Finally, the businessman said that when deciding to set up a company, it is always important to stick to the project. He believes that one advantage is to have close people who help defend the idea.

“When there are people who love you and support you as it happened with your parents or grandparents, you end up taking risks because you know that no matter what happens, if you fall, someone will help you get up.”

To this board, several leadership principles have been added that are part of the backbone of the company that management maintained at the time of its official departure from Amazon.

Customer obsession

Leaders start with customers and work backwards. They actively work to earn and maintain the trust of customers. Leaders pay attention to competitors, but are obsessed with customers.

real estate

They are owned by leaders. They think long term and do not sacrifice long-term value for short-term results. They act on behalf of the entire company beyond their own team. They say, “That's not my job.” I don't say that.

Invent and Simplify

Leaders expect and demand innovation and inventions from their teams, and always look for ways to simplify them. They are aware of the outside world, are looking for new ideas everywhere, and are not limited to “what is not invented here.” We acknowledge that when we do something new, we can be misunderstood for a long time.

They are right, very much

Leaders are right. They have strong judgment and good instincts. They seek diverse perspectives and strive to refute their beliefs.

Learn and be curious

Leaders never finish learning and always try to improve themselves. They wonder about new possibilities and act to explore them.

Best employment and development

Leaders raise performance standards each time they recruit and promote.Recognize outstanding talent and move voluntarily across the organization. Leaders play a role in nurturing leaders and seriously training others. We invent development mechanisms such as career choice (Career Choice) on behalf of our employees.

We insist on the highest standards

Leaders have a constant high standard. Many people may think that these standards are unreasonably high. Leaders are constantly raising standards and driving teams to deliver high-quality products, services, and processes. Leaders ensure that defects are not sent to the line and problems are fixed and remain fixed.

Think big

Thinking small is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Leaders create and communicate bold directions that inspire outcomes. They think differently and look for ways to serve customers.

Prejudice against behavior

Speed matters in business. Many decisions and actions are reversible and do not require extensive research. We value calculated risk taking.

Constraining more performance with less resources generates ingenuity, self-sufficiency and inventionThere are no additions needed to increase the number of employees, the size of the budget, or fixed costs.

Gain confidence

Leaders listen carefully, speak frankly, and respect others. Even when they are awkward or embarrassed, they are self-critical with their voices. Leaders do not think that their own body odor or the body odor of the team smells like nostalgia. They compare themselves and their teams with the best.

Dive dips

Leaders are active at all levels, stay connected to details, are audited frequently, and are skeptical when metrics and anecdotes are different. There is no work below that.

Backbone Holding; Commit Without Agree

Leaders are obliged to politely challenge decisions when they disagree, when they feel uncomfortable or exhausted. Leaders are confident and tenacious. They do not compromise for social cohesion.Once a decision is made, it is fully committed.

Providing results

Leaders focus on key inputs to the business and deliver them with the right quality and on time. Despite setbacks, they run into opportunities and never settle down.
