Salernitana eased past Hellas Verona in a 2-1 victory on Sunday at the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi. Verona had been hopeful of continuing their run after winning last match. Salernitana, on the other hand, lost 5-0 in the last match they played against Internazionale. As the table looks today, Verona are in 12th place, with 27 points from 21 matches, while Salernitana sit in 20th, with 8 points from 21.

granate started strongly in the first half, thanks to a goal from Milan Djuric in the 29th minute, finalising the first half 0-1.

Verona took the initiative in the second half, with Darko Lazovic finding the net, at 63 minutes. Salernitana in turn, then responded at the 70 minute mark increasing their lead with an effort from Grigoris Kastanos and seeing the game end 2-1.

For Verona, Antonin Barak, Nikola Kalinic and Adrien Tameze, came on for Fabio Depaoli, Giovanni Simeone and Nicolo Casale. Salernitana replaced Filippo Delli Carri, Leonardo Capezzi, Federico Bonazzoli and Wajdi Kechrida with Nadir Zortea, Mamadou Coulibaly, Cedric Gondo and Frederic Veseli.

The referee booked Koray Gunter from Verona and Ivan Ilic went off with a red card, while Salernitana's Grigoris Kastanos, Norbert Gyomber and Francesco Di Tacchio also received a yellow.

Verona will next play Sassuolo away, with Salernitana facing Lazio at home.
