Napoli welcome Atalanta to Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, but are left stunned after Atalanta take all 3 points

Atalanta enjoyed a mesmerising away victory against Napoli at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Saturday. Napoli wanted to continue adding points after a 2-2 draw against Sassuolo whilst Atalanta were coming from consecutive wins against Venezia and Juventus. As it stands, Napoli are in 3rd place on the table and has 36 points while Atalanta sit in 4th with 34 points after 16 matches.

Atalanta started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with a goal from Ruslan Malinovskyi after only 7 minutes. However, they were unable to maintain their lead, Piotr Zielinski managed to equalize and take the sides off in the 40th minute at 1-1. However they weren't finished yet and Dries Mertens made it 2-1 just before half-time, finalising the first half 2-1.

The Goddess continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to Merih Demiral finding the net, at 66 minutes. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Remo Freuler at the 71 minute mark with a final score of 3-2.

For Napoli, Diego Demme, Andrea Petagna, Adam Ounas and Matteo Politano, came on for Stanislav Lobotka, Hirving Lozano, Dries Mertens and Kevin Malcuit. Atalanta brought on Hans Hateboer, Josip Ilicic, Mario Pasalic, Luis Muriel and Berat Djimsiti, to replace Davide Zappacosta, Matteo Pessina, Ruslan Malinovskyi, Duvan Zapata and Joakim Maehle.

There were bookings for Amir Rrahmani and Kevin Malcuit from Napoli, and Ruslan Malinovskyi, Mario Pasalic and Berat Djimsiti, for Atalanta.

Napoli will next play Empoli at home, with Atalanta facing Hellas Verona away.
