Leicester drop points against Soton: 2-2 at St. Mary's Stadium

Disappointment on both sides as Soton and Leicester see out a 2-2 draw

Soton were held to 2-2 draw by Leicester down on Wednesday at St. Mary's Stadium. Soton were looking to get back their winning ways after losing their last game 4-0 to Liverpool. Leicester, on the other hand, were looking to extend their winning run after a 4-2 victory against Watford. After today's result, Soton and Leicester currently occupy 16th and 8th spots in the league, with 15 points and 19 points respectively after 14 matches.

The Saints found the net first, thanks to an early goal from Jan Bednarek in the 3rd minute. However, their lead was short-lived, as an equalizer from Jonny Evans, 22 minutes in, brought Leicester level. However, Soton, 34 minutes in found the back of the net via a Che Adams goal to see out the first half 2-1.

The Foxes started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, with an early goal from James Maddison in the 49th minute, leaving the final score at 2-2.

Both coaches used all substitutions. For Soton, Armando Broja, Mohamed Elyounoussi and Lyanco, came on for Nathan Tella, Adam Armstrong and Jan Bednarek, Leicester brought on Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Ayoze Perez and Patson Daka to replace Boubakary Soumare, Ademola Lookman and Harvey Barnes.

There were bookings for Oriol Romeu from Soton. For Leicester, Ademola Lookman, Wilfred Ndidi and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall saw yellow.

Soton will play at home against Brighton & Hove Albion, while Leicester will face Aston Villa away.
