Liverpool eased past Manchester United in a 5-0 victory on Sunday at Old Trafford. Man U were hoping to get something from this game, following a previous defeat to Leicester City. Liverpool were coming off the back of a 5-0 win against Watford. As it stands, Man U and Liverpool currently occupy 7th and 2nd spots in the table, with 14 points and 21 points respectively after 9 matches.

Liverpool found the net first, with an early goal from Naby Keita in the 5th minute. The Reds looked to have the game under control when they scored again and incerased their lead, thanks to a goal from Diogo Jota, 13 minutes in to establish a 2-0. The momentum was now with Liverpool, who then scored again through a goal from Mohamed Salah, 38 minutes in to establish a 3-0. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a effort from Mohamed Salah just before half-time, which saw the first half end 0-4.

Liverpool started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, with an early hat trick effort from Mohamed Salah in the 50th minute, which sealed the victory for the visitors.

Both managers used the full entitlement. For Man U, Paul Pogba, Diogo Dalot and Edinson Cavani, came on for Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes, Liverpool brought on Curtis Jones, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Sadio Mane to replace James Milner, Naby Keita and Roberto Firmino.

Man U will next travel to Tottenham Hotspur, while Liverpool will face Brighton & Hove Albion at home.
