Bayer Leverkusen fell to an away defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday. Both Bayern and Leverkusen arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Bayern were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run after winning last match. Leverkusen had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 3-0 victory against Cologne. At the moment, Bayern are in 1st place on the table and has 71 points while Leverkusen sit in 6th with 47 points after 30 matches.

The Reds dominated the first half, with a goal from Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting early in the first half. Bayern then scored once more and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Joshua Kimmich, on 13 minutes, finalising the first half 2-0. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 2-0.

For Bayern, Leroy Sane, Nianzou Tanguy Kouassi, Leon Goretzka, Bouna Sarr and Christopher Scott, came on for Jeremie Frimpong, Moussa Diaby, Charles Aranguiz, Sven Bender and Daley Sinkgraven. Leverkusen brought on Florian Wirtz, Karim Bellarabi, Kerem Demirbay, Nadiem Amiri and Wendell, to replace Jeremie Frimpong, Moussa Diaby, Charles Aranguiz, Sven Bender and Daley Sinkgraven.

Bayern will play their next fixture away against Mainz, while Leverkusen will face Eintracht Frankfurt at home.
