(Bloomberg) -- Twitter Inc. rebuffed a claim by President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador that the social media giant is biased against his administration in a series of tweets posted to the Twitter Mexico account.

The company said that no single person is responsible for policy after Lopez Obrador claimed that the head of Twitter Mexico was aligned with the Partido Accion Nacional -- an opposition party -- in comments during his Wednesday morning press conference.

The president, who is himself a frequent Twitter user with 7.7 million followers, has been a harsh critic of the decision by multiple social media companies to shut down accounts of former U.S. President Donald Trump.

In his remarks to the press Wednesday, Lopez Obrador seemed to refer to Hugo Rodriguez Nicolat, Twitter’s director of public policy in Mexico, rather than the head of Twitter Mexico, Francisco Jimenez. The president projected an image of Rodriguez Nicolat’s LinkedIn page, which mentions previous work with the party. Twitter representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

“No one person on Twitter is responsible, alone, for our compliance policies or actions,” the company said in its statement. “It’s regrettable to see comments directed at our employees as solely responsible for company decisions or rules.”

Twitter did not refer to any of its employees or to Lopez Obrador by name.
