IPC launches websites for NPCs in Ecuador, Indonesia and Tunisia

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has launched websites for the National Paralympic Committees of Ecuador (www.ecuadorparalimpico.org), Indonesia (www.npcindonesia.org) and Tunisia (www.tunisiaparalympic.org), in addition to a micro-site for the Americas Paralympic Committee housed on the IPC's website.

The three NPC websites will aim to incorporate all the latest news, events and developments in the Paralympic Movement in those respective countries, targeting both audiences at the elite and grassroots levels.

Displayed in Spanish, the NPC Ecuador website will help fuel a nation where the Paralympic Movement is quickly growing in the lead-up to the Toronto 2015 Parapan American Games and Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

NPC Ecuador President Bayron Lopez said: "The website is a very important tool that we needed to continue to inform the general public how our Paralympic sports have been developing at a national and international level.

"Through the web, we can also share content related to education, inclusion, and athlete information, motivating everyone to support people with an impairment and become a part of the Paralympic Movement in Ecuador."

More on the recent growth of NPC Ecuador will be shared in the next edition of The Paralympian magazine, due out in late February.

For NPC Tunisia, their website will be an essential resource in a country where para-athletics already has a strong foundation, as it will host the eighth Tunis International Meeting - part of the 2014 IPC Athletics Grand Prix - from 16-18 June.

NPC Tunisia Secretary General Sonia Bidouh, said: "One of our main goals was to build a user-friendly and simple to navigate site. The design allows the users to quickly find the contents, thanks to its soft hierarchical structure.

"We hope that you will enjoy browsing our new site, finding more options and information each time, and that it will be yet another tool for strengthening our sport regulations."

For NPC Indonesia, the website will be a big step in raising awareness for the Movement in a country that won just one medal at the London 2012 Paralympics.

The Americas Paralympic Committee (APC) website has been transferred over to the IPC's website and can be found directly at www.AmericasParalympic.org.

Representing 28 countries, the APC have received a lot of support from the Agitos Foundation in recent months to help cultivate the Movement in their region in the lead-up to Toronto 2015 and Rio 2016. Updates on both events, as well as development workshops, will be posted on their new micro-site over the course of the next few years.

All of the websites produced are a part of the IPC's overall digital strategy to develop a greater online presence for its members over the coming years.
