YOG Deadline

Monday is the deadline for 2018 Youth Olympic Games candidates to deliver their bid books to IOC headquarters in Lausanne.

With last week’s withdrawal of Poznan, five cities remain: Buenos Aires, Glasgow, Guadalajara, Medellin and Rotterdam.

Glasgow became the first of the five bidders to announce its submission Friday. Guadalajara mailed its package last Tuesday, Around the Rings is told, while Buenos Aires and Medellin are sending small teams Monday. ATR understands Rotterdam is also on track.

The IOC will reveal early Tuesday whether all five followed through on their plans.

IF Debrief

Members of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations meet this week in Lausanne for a two-day debrief on London 2012.

Sportel Monaco

Sportel Monaco, a trade show for high-level executives in sport media, runs Monday to Thursday in Monaco.

The legacy of the 2012 Olympics in London and preparations for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil are among the topics of discussion dealing with the Olympic Movement.
