Commonwealth Gold Medalist Kenneth To, 26

A cause of death has not been determined for Commonwealth gold medalist Kenneth To. He want to a hospital after a training session March 19th at the University of Florida, where he died, reports the The South China Morning Post.

ABC World News notes that 2009 was an important year for To, breaking the Australian record for the 200 meter individual medley.

The Hong Kong Free Press has more on To's career which he shared between his native Hong-Kong and Australia, where he grew up.

In a statement, The Hong Kong Sports Institute called To's passing "A huge loss to local sports."

According to the SCMP, To felt unwell in the locker room post training.

The Gainesville Sun reports To was training at the University of Florida for three-month residency.

Teammates and other members of the Olympic community reacted to the sudden passing of To, People Magazine reports.

Thrasher Editor Jake Phelps, 56

No cause of death has been announced for Jake Phelps , editor-in-chief of skateboarding magazine Thrasher, reports the New York Times.

Billboard reports Phelp's death was announced via Instagram by the founder's son Tony Vitello.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that Phelps was "Famed among skateboarders and extreme sports fans for his daring stunts."

SF Gate highlights how passionate Phelps was about skateboarding, being seen frequently boarding around the city even after sustaining a head injury in 2017.

Members of the pro skater community such as Tony Hawk, tweetedtheir regrets and condolences.
