The Pan American Karate Federation (PKF) has informed that the 2020 PKF Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships have been cancelled due to the current situation of uncertainty caused by the coronavirus outbreak. The continental event had initially been scheduled to take place in Monterrey (Mexico) from August 24 to 29.

Following the postponement of the PKF Senior Championships, which had been planned for May 25 to 30, Karate’s continental federation in the Americas decided to cancel the PKF Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships.

The decision was taken due to the "impossibility of knowing when we will be able to go back to the normal development of our activities" as the PKF communicated in a statement. Scheduled for August 24 to 29 in Monterrey (Mexico), the tournament joins the long list of Karate events which have been postponed or cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The previous edition of the championships had been held in Guayaquil (Ecuador) in August 2019.
