Fayetteville, Ark. – A nationally recognized training program to be run by Dr. Mike Trexler, the director and owner of the Parisi Speed School, opened on September 26, 2011, within the AAO Sports Center. The new AAO P. Whitaker Sports Center has not only created a venue for competitive basketball and volleyball tournaments and league competition, but also a world-class training facility.

Parisi is a specialized youth training program that Trexler said he chose because of its devotion to the physical and psychological development of athletes. "Parisi is empowering and positive in their training," Trexler said. "I chose it because of its structure and proven results."

Parisi’s mission statement is to continue to deliver a positive training experience that improves speed of movement and strength in character regardless of ability or economic status." Trexler truly believed in the Parisi program and wanted to offer more classes and outlets for competition to the youth of Northwest Arkansas. The Parisi School within the AAO Sports Center is the only school within a youth sports complex in the nation.

The Parisi program within AAO offers a variety of training. For less than 100 dollar a month athletes can attend unlimited sessions involving conditioning, linear speed sessions, change of direction sessions, upper body strength training and lower body speed specific strength. The facility offers classes from 4pm to 8pm with classes running every hour and also a condition class on Saturday mornings. Trexler hopes to move classes to once every half hour upon growth of the program.

The Parisi program is a training program to improve speed and agility, but Trexler has seen success in all areas of sport. Trexler has successfully trained golfers, tennis players and many other athletes across the sport spectrum.

Dr. Trexler has a Ph.D. in Nutrition and Fitness from University of South Carolina and has had experience with children and adolescents through his experience coaching his daughters’ AAO team. The AAO Mustangs were formed in 2008 when Trexler felt there weren’t enough outlets for competitive sports in Northwest Arkansas. Through his partnership with Brad Friess, director of AAO, both Trexler’s team and AAO grew. Now, the Parisi School and the new AAO P. Whitaker Sports Center are premier athletic facilities for training and competitive sports.
