THE 2014 IFBB WORLD WOMEN’S FITNESS, MEN’S FITNESS AND MIXED PAIRS CHAMPIONSHIPS will be held in Laval, Montreal, Canada on October 17-20, 2014

The beautiful site of Laval, 15 minutes way from downtown Montreal is the host of this 2014 World Fitness Championships organized by the Canadian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation. The Championships will be spread out during the course of 3 days and will include Women Bodyfitness, Women Fitness, Women Bikini Fitness and Women Physique. It will also cover Men Fitness, Men Physique, Mixed Pairs under the regulations and categories of the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness.

As is customary a strict doping control will be conducted by the IFBB Anti-Doping Commission pursuant to the IFBB Anti-Doping rules using the WADA accredited laboratory. The IFBB is a Signatory to the WADA Code and participating National federations have a duty and obligation to ensure that their national team athletes are competing drug free at IFBB international competitions.

The recent surge in the popularity of the "Fitness" discipline and its various events has created unheard off levels of enthusiasm taking to Montreal a record number of participants The the added appeal of the Mixed Pairs Championship with participants from more than 70 national teams from countries that reached the World competitive level in the five continents . IFBB is proud with the growth of Fitness disincline and the way it has been received by female athletes around the world who are keen to participate in well regulated, organized and recognized events across the globe under the control of the IFBB.

It is relevant to our point the sentimental and historical attachment due Montreal where the IFBB was founded in 1946 with two countries: Canada and the United States under the far reaching guidance of Ben Weider. The IFBB has now 189 affiliated member federations.

50, 000 + at ARNOLD CLASSIC EUROPE, MADRID

A milestone was reached at this staple event of the worldwide Fitness and Bodybuilding community as it attracted over 50.000 visitors to Madrid for a weekend, september 26-28 of competitions, sports exhibitions, industry expo and more. 900 Fitness athletes and over 4,000 in other sports and activities such as martial arts, weightlifting, aikido, personal defense, strong-arm, Rubik’s cube, powerlifitng, cheer with the Spanish National Championship with more than 300 athletes, pole dance, Pilates, BMX and many others.

At that time Arnold was recognized for his contributions to health, fitness and lifestyle worldwide and especially in Spain and Madrid by being awarded the title of "Ambassador of Madrid".

The Arnold Classic started as the Arnold Sports Festival at its birthplace in Columbus, Ohio where this magna event has been held now since 1989. It has now grown and expanded into the worldwide famous Arnold Classic with sites in Australia, Brazil, and Europe/Madrid.

WORLD JUNIOR AND MASTERS CHAMPIONSHIPS

To complete an intense month for the IFBB we can share that the World Junior and Master Championships were held in Morelia, Mexico, this past weekend.

BEN WEIDER DIAMOND CUP

The prestigious "Ben Weider" Diamond Cup, in memory of he IFBB founder, will be held n China two days after the World Championships.

MEN’S WORLD AMATEUR BODYBUILDING CHAMPIONSHIP AND INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS

The month of november 12-16 will take the IFBB to Brasilia, Brazil for the 68th Men’s World AmateurBodybuilding Championship and International Congress.
