Panasonic, Sochi reach agreement
Panasonic extended its Olympic sponsorship to the Sochi 2014 Olympics, adding the household appliances category for the upcoming Games.
Panasonic will provide as many as 5,000 household appliances for the Olympics.
Dmitry Chernyshenko President and CEO of Sochi 2014 called Panasonic a "perfect fit" for the Games.
Panasonic, already is a TOP Sponsor, having the audio-visual category for its IOC sponsorship.
USA Wrestling Adds partner
USA Wrestling and Dick’s sporting goods announced a partnership for the "Keep Wrestling 2020 Vision Campaign."
Dicks will lend support with social media campaigns, website promotion, as well as in-store promotions.
"DICK’S Sporting Goods recognizes the dedication and values wrestling instils in young athletes and is proud to partner with USA Wrestling to support these elite competitors’dream to represent their country in the Olympics," said Lauren Hobart, DICK’S Sporting Goods Chief Marketing Officer.
"We encourage wrestling supporters to sign the petition to make their voices heard."
Glasgow 2014 events partner
Great Big Events will deliver Sports Presentation for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
The agreement, signed yesterday, includes in-stadia presentations andentertainment as well as information services.
The entertainment group will also coordinate and stage the medal ceremonies for the games.
GBE worked the same role at every Commonwealth Games since 2002 in Manchester, England.
"GBE have unparalleled experience in delivering Sport Presentation within a Commonwealth Games environment, which is matched with their reputation amongst International Sport Federations for the successful delivery of services at both single-sport events and multi-sport Games," said Greg Warnecke, Glasgow 2014 Head of Sport.
"Importantly, GBE have been able to demonstrate a great understanding of all 17 Glasgow 2014 sports which will ensure that Glasgow 2014 will be able to deliver an outstanding Sport Presentation experience for everyone within each competition venue."
